Had an awesome time at the Connections Wargaming Conference Game Night yesterday which is definitely my new must attend conference. I had a great time demoing my game Emergency Operations Center Wildfire Mayhem and even got positive praise for my creative use of AI to support visualization of the battlespace. There was a lot of talk at the conference on how not to use AI fyi. I also got to try other defense focused games that were both for domestic U.S. audiences and international wargames spanning USCG maritime counter-terrorism to embassy evacuation, to air superiority games which I got to play a competitive 2 v 2 match. Teaming up with a Space Force Major we used our superior tactics and deception capabilities as well as the ideal deployment of capabilities and weapon systems to dominate the battle space and win by scoring the most points through attrition. I had the privilege of meeting some legendary wargamer developers. It was facintating to learn how wargames are in effect used at all U.S. military academies and even to support Special Operations Forces. I'm proud to contribute something new to the practice with disaster wargaming. See you next year Wargaming Connenections! I have never been more reinvigorated with glorious purpose in my efforts.
